Trick or Treat- Spinal Talk

There are a million ways to treat the spine- some good, some not good. We all inadvertently can do trick or treat to our spinal health. I just want to go over some examples if you would indulge me..

1- It is a treat to go to the gym and work out and strengthen the muscles and bones which support the spine. But, it is a trick if you don't listen to your body- if you feel like you tweaked something, don't keep on working out to the normal extent- LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!

2- It is a treat to go outside in the garden planting and enjoying, it is a wonderful way to decompress. But, it is a trick as it is a pretty bad rule to work like that until you start to feel achy- manage your body and pain and don't over do it. The best thing to do is to moderate where you can

3- It is a treat to wake up in the morning, blessed to have another day. The trick is that because of inactivity during sleep for the most part, our joints need a little kick start. Please try to treat your spine correctly when you wake up by doing a little bit of stretching- 5 minutes is enough to lubricate the joints and get them ready for another day

I am just celebrating my 35th year in practice in Exton, PA. One of the many things I have learned through these years is that we as human beings can be really silly and not listen to our bodies. Lets all make a vow to be smarter and listen to our bodies better to make them as healthy as we can.
